Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival 2011 takes place from Thursday 3rd February to Saturday 5th February 2011 at Essex County Council Social Club (Triangle Club), Duke St, Chelmsford CM1 1LX which is just two minutes walk from Chelmsford Rail station. We will be offering a great selection of Belgian beers at this festival including a few rarely found in the U.K. or Belgium. Here is a list of our 2011 offerings:
Draught Beers
Ducassis 3%abv - Fruit beer with 30% Blackcurrant Berry Juice from Geants Brewery.
Jopen Extra Stout 5.5%abv - A dark, dry and bitter Belgian Stout.
Quintine Blanche Bio 5.9%abv - An organic cloudy wheat beer from brewery Ellezelloise.
Poperings Hommelbier 7.5%abv - Hoppy blonde ale from Van Eecke.
Het Kappitel Abt Ale 10.0%abv - Massive golden full-bodied beer. Handle with care.
Belgian Lager Beers
Silly Pils 5.0%abv - Better than average lager from the Silly brewery, down south.
Verhaeghe Pils 4.7%abv - Hoppier than your average lager beer.
Wheat Beers
Watou’s Wit 5.0% abv - The wheat beer that defines the Belgian wheat beer style. Unbeatable.
Blanche de Bruxelles 4.5% abv - Coriander and citrus accented wheat beer from Brasserie Lefebvre.
St Bernardus Witbier 5.5% abv - One of the best wheat biers available, anywhere. A must try.
Blonde Beers
Adelardus Triple 9.0% abv - An Abbey tripel beer brewed by Kerkom, sweet and fruity.
Belgoo Luppo 6.5% abv - Dry hopped blond ale made with barley and oats.
Brigand 9.0 % abv - Strong blond beer that drinks its weight.
Brugs Zot 6.0% abv - Blonde refreshing beer with malt and citrus flavours.
Hommel Bier 7.5% abv - A refreshing hoppy blonde beer.
Maredsous 6 6.0% abv - Beautiful balance of grain and aromatic hops from the makers of Duvel.
Maredsous 10 10.0%abv - Big orangey-blond cross between a triple and a barley wine.
Amber & Dark Beers
Chelmsford Oak Smoked Porter 5.1%abv - Specially brewed for us by Alvinne brewery using malt hand smoked at Squires smokery in Chelmsford. Beautiful & subtle.
Delirium Nocturnum 8.5% abv - Huge dark and bitter winter ale.
Kwak 8.4%abv - Famous sweetish caramel beer that always goes down well.
Maredsous 8 8.0%abv - Well-made strong dark dubbel beer with a Demerara sweetness.
Orval 6.2%abv - Distinctive pale amber ale brewed by Trappist monks.
Rodenbach 6.0%abv - Flemish red-brown beer, oak aged, sour but refreshing.
Viven Imperial IPA 8.0%abv - Brewed with Tomahawk and Simcoe hops and it shows.
Viven Porter 7.0%abv - Brewed with American bittering hops.
Westmalle Dubbel 7.0% abv - Brown Trappist ale, malty, fruity taste always excellent.
Lambic Beers
Lambic beers are all made using spontaneous fermentation in a very small part of Belgium, this produces a beer that is sharp and slightly sour, these are then blended to produce Gueuze.

Verhaeghe Echte Kriek 6.8% abv - Nice and sourish, made with cherries steeped in aged brown beer.
